Where does Knollfest take place?
Knollfest is held on the Berkley Avenue Knoll, just south of Butler University campus.
What is “The Knoll”
Imagine a street with houses on both sides facing each other. Now imagine that street completely covered in grass, continuing like that for 3 blocks. That’s the Knoll! It’s like a community front yard and essentially what Knollfest is doing is creating a music festival/block party on the Knoll!
Is Knollfest family friendly?
Absolutely! Knollfest is an all-ages event with plenty of activities for everyone!
Is Knollfest dog friendly?
Woof Woof! We welcome your dogs at the event; however we ask that you please pick up after them!
Testimonials
Knollfest offers all the same great features of a weekend-long festival (music all day, an extensive and eclectic band line up, local art & food vendors, and an energetic, attentive audience) with out the hassle of traveling out of town, setting up and maintaining camp, or spending gobs of money for quality entertainment.
Basically my whole take on it is…
Knollfest introduces a new standard in the Indianapolis music community, on all levels. Not only is the Knoll showcasing local musicians that are synonymous with the up and coming vibe felt around our great city of Indianapolis, but also a new generation of sonic shamans from all over the Midwest come to strengthen and celebrate a community that’s finally getting its due credit.
In celebrating our city, it’s musical talent, the Midwest, and the arts in general, it’s only fitting that Knollfest be held in an urban context, an objective that in my opinion, has never been successfully achieved in the Naptown, until now. The Knoll itself, as a public forum in all its divine simplicity, echoes and amplifies the urban renaissance our community contributes towards every day. This is tangible progress for all the right reasons! With sounds ranging from face melting funk, to psychedelic synthesizers, all the way to some bass heavy wobbles, Knollfest delivers an overdue experience that is sure to leave patrons musically and spiritually satisfied!

Two words: LIFE CHANGING.
Jeff Poss: Knoll resident, Butler University
Knollfest is a sense of being a part of Butler neighborhood. The residents love the students all year round but during Knollfest, the Knoll is truly what it was intended when first envisioned…people coming out of their houses and being neighborly and just having fun together.
The bands are really good and the performers are so enthusiastic to be there. If you tried it the first year, try again…it is better! Growing pains are allowed.
